Today I am yet again at work sitting bored. I have been thinking of a subject for a while now, and it is the fashion sense of the people that work at the UPS store that resides 2 doors down from my place of employment. I am friends with the owner and his wife, and this blog really has to do with the people that they employ rather than them.
I don't really know the personalities of the workers that handle your package so gently, but they seem kind of dweeby. I know that is not actually a real word, but I am sure that none of you question it's meaning. Apparently there is a uniform for the people that work at the store(definitely not as bad as the uniform for the drivers of the big brown trucks), this uniform is simple and only involves wearing your black UPS polo with khaki pants. Simple enough. There are two guys that work there that look to be around my age.
One of them is a pretty good looking guy, good haircut, glasses, good build. But! He always wears brown Dr.Martins to work with his black polo. How old were you when you learned that you are not supposed to wear black and brown together? I was a junior in high school, when a girl told me that she hates when guys wears the black and brown combo(thank goodness I was not making the same mistake at the time I was learning outrageous fashion foe pa, I may have never recovered from the ridicule). At first I thought she was just pulling my chain, as I was pretty gullible back in the day, and had little to no fashion sense(yet still today). Turns out she wasn't joking. Who made this rule? Is it even a rule? Did someone just start this rumor that black and brown do not go together and people started to believe and all of the sudden his joke was accepted as common knowledge? Who am I kidding?!! We know it had to be a woman that started the rumor in the first place. I used to think that black and brown looked just fine together, but now I have been so brainwashed by societal norms that I commonly find myself repulsed by these people who don't know the rule.
My solution for this is one of two answers: first we have government enforced BLAKOWN days, this is where everyone in America is forced to wear black and brown together somewhere on their bodies...after a few generations have passed on we can repeal these laws and hopefully this societal norm will be no more. My second proposed solution is that each parent should tell their child as soon as they can talk and understand what their parents are trying to teach them(maybe potty-training age). I found out when I was a junior in high school! This dude that works two doors down still doesn't know! People are finding out that black does not go with brown way to late in their lives...and it needs to stop.
Another thing that I noticed about this certain employee is that his pants show at least 3 inches of his ankles when he is standing(they probably turn into some type of shorts when he sits). All of his pants are like this! He has several pairs of khaki pants, and I have seen him come in to work on his day off. All his pants are too short from my point of view.
Here is my final question: Is this guys lack of fashion sense holding him back from finding a girlfriend? Now I know that he is not married, but I do not know if he has girlfriend. I believe that it is holding him back from hooking up with some major hotties. This guy is good looking, perhaps more so than I or even my friends! This is a problem, yet is goes unresolved. Oh well, I guess that he could end up with a great looking wife anyway.....if he makes a lot of money:)

I realize that I am writing a blog on fashion, but I feel slightly qualified as I am not fashionable or unfashionable
Its nice to read a blog written by a guy for a change. All the blogs Eliza reads are about desperate house wifes.
